Compassionate Care

Everyone’s journey through life is a unique and personal experience that deserves to be heard. I am here to listen and help you explore, clarify, and process whatever issues you are working through in a safe, warm, and compassionate space. My approach is rooted in person-centered and emotion focused therapies, meaning I will work collaborative with you to better understand your feelings and experiences, starting wherever you are and moving toward where you wish to be. Maybe you feel overwhelmed or are struggling to identify what you want or need in life. Maybe you feel unsure of how to move forward from a current or past situation that is impacting your wellbeing. Finding your way to a path of healing can seem emotionally daunting, but you don't have to travel that path alone. I work individually with adolescents and adults. I have experience working with a variety of issues and concerns including trauma, grief/loss, anxiety, depression, suicidal ideation, relationship challenges, loneliness, stress, and stress associated with major life changes. I support LGBTQIA+ folks and have particular experience working with clients around the intersection of queer identity issues and religious upbringings. I also can provide a safe place to explore gender, sexuality, and non-traditional relationship dynamics. I recognize that sharing your challenges with a professional can be scary, which is why I view the building of a strong therapeutic relationship as the foundation upon which all other aspects of counseling grow. I believe in compassionate connection as an important pathway to healing. I also believe offering feedback, observations, and gentle challenges around "stuck" points is an essential component to the therapeutic process. This can be vulnerable and uncomfortable, but facilitates tremendous room for growth and opportunities to increase personal insight and self awareness. I aim to offer you warm, compassionate, and professional care as part of your journey towards wellness. If you feel like I may be a good match for your needs, I encourage you to reach out for a free 15-minute consultation. ADDITIONAL DETAILS I offer telehealth and in-person sessions. I accept the following insurance: Anthem, Aetna, MaineCare, Harvard Pilgrim, Magellan, and Community Health Options. I also maintain a certain number of sliding scale sessions per week for those without insurance. I can also provide a superbill to clients wishing to use out-of-network benefits.
